Duplex stainless steel pipe is widely used in onshore and offshore environments, where there resistance of localised corrosion, especially pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking is required.

Duplex Pipe Specification:

Duplex pipe of our factory mostly are manufactured according to

  • ASTM A789, ASTM A790,
  • or EN 10216-5 TC1/TC2.
  • Besides these, we also produce duplex pipes according to GB, JIS, GOST standards.

Size Range:

Our factory can manufacture duplex pipe and duplex tube with O.D 10 mm to 219 mm, wall thickness 0.5mm to 15mm.
And duplex pipes are delivered in straight length up to 15 meters, or in U bend types as U bend duplex pipes. We can cut the duplex tubing to exact length upon customer’s requirements.

They’re characterised by large chromium (19–28 percent) and molybdenum (around 5 percent) and reduced nickel contents compared to austenitic stainless steels.

Duplex stainless steels have a mixed microstructure of both austenite and ferrite, the goal being to create a 50/50 combination, though, in commercial metals, the combination might be 40/60 respectively.

The most utilized duplex stainless steels will be the 2205 (22 percent Chromium, 5% Nominal) along with also the 2507 (25% Chromium, 7 percent Nominal); 2507 is called “super duplex” because of its high resistance to rust. The mechanical components of Duplex steels are roughly double those with striking austenitic stainless steels,  which means we can use duplex steel to design thinner gauge tubing. And duplex steel’s resistance to stress corrosion cracking is much superior to 316 stainless steel in chloride solutions. Duplex steel includes a ductile or brittle transition in approximately -50 degrees.

Duplex steels may be easily welded and formed, like austenitic grades. Based on nickel, chromium and molybdenum material, duplex stainless steels are broken up into four chief classes: lean duplex, duplex, super duplex and duplex. This family of stainless steel has great benefits in both engineered and material fabrication expenses.
